Responsible for the development and standardization of the Clinical Documentation program. Develops best practice workflows focusing on combination of clinical, coding and billing expertise to improve the quality of clinical, coding and financial documentation related to services provided. Responsible for training and education of UHS Clinical Documentation programs for new workflows and technology. Works with outside vendors and UHS IT to optimize use of the products and technology and develop workflow and operation process. This role will project manage, test and train key people in all regions to create a standardize approach to new technology. This person would be a subject matter expert on workflows of CDI to create best practice. This person will be responsible to assist with Cerner Revenue Cycle implantation with CDI workflows, 3M updates and new functionality, DQR and ClinIntell.
Essential Job Duties:
Supports the Corporate HIM, Physician and Care Management Leadership in the Clinical Documentation Program Initiatives (CDI).
Identifies patterns or trends requiring additional training as it relates to clinical documentation improvement.
Develops and conducts clinical documentation improvement training.
Maintains education training processes and tools.
Assists with revisions to Policy and Procedures
Participates in committees related to clinical documentation improvement.
Collaborates with the various departments impacted by clinical documentation improvement initiatives.
Project management of new technology and workflow initiatives for clinical documentation improvement.
Works closely with UHS IT and vendor to implement new functionality on existing systems such as 3M and Cerner.
