This position provides company-wide leadership and management of the home medical equipment business. This position validates the appropriateness of services and products provided and assures that the care provided is of the highest clinical and service quality. This position provides leadership to ensure efficiencies and synergies are achieved by integrating common processes and parties access the system; creating improved financial performance, meeting quality indicators and maintaining business growth.
Provides leadership in the delivery of coordinated, integrated products and patient care services through the development and improvement of management and delivery processes and systems. Supports HME, Biomed and Transfill Services in all locations. Prepares an annual financial budget of all projected revenues and expenses, and then works within the approved budget and obtains input from the network HME branch managers as appropriate.
Assures compliance to billing process and accounts receivable levels within the region and established guidelines. Implements/supports company compliance program. Directs the development, implementation and evaluation of the quality and risk management program for the operation. Ensures that areas of responsibility deliver excellence in clinical and service quality, meet all regulatory requirements, maintain appropriate accreditation (if applicable), and comply with organizational policies.
Provides strategic direction for operations, capital expenditures, business growth and favorable quality indicators. Ensures the highest quality of care at the most efficient cost. Works collaboratively with all divisions to achieve system-wide initiatives.
Creates a network-wide focus for performance improvement and quality management. Champions the use of technology throughout the organization to continuously enhance performance. Models the use of information technology to optimize productivity.
Develops the marketing and business development plans for all departments and product lines for Arizona, Colorado and Alaska markets. The plan is developed to assure volume, admission, and growth targets are met.
Acts as the sales manager to design training and educational programs. The overall marketing goals of the HME division will be implemented. Plans, participates, and performs direct sales, marketing, and public relations duties for the HME operations. Identifies payer contract opportunities and works in conjunction with regional contracting resources to secure payer contracts to support growth and referral initiatives.
Manages personnel actions including recruiting, new hire actions, interviewing and selection of new staff, salary determinations, training, and personnel evaluations. This position also participates in the development of goals and objectives in accordance with company standards. Assures the development of staff leadership through the design of effective shared leadership models and supports career advancement opportunities. Functions as a role model and encourages staff to participate in their own development.
Knowledge or experience equivalent to a Bachelors degree in business or a health related field.
Must possess a valid drivers license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
At least seven years of experience in HME management. Thorough knowledge of the financial aspect of healthcare. Knowledge of the requirements of applicable regulatory and accrediting agenciesExcellent human relations and communication skills.
Ability to use common office software, including spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
