The Microsoft 365 Engineer will be responsible for ensuring proper release Lifecyle management and successful technical deployments for all updates and changings to Microsoft 365 (Office 365 & Windows 10).
Duties associated with this position include:
·Monitoring and vetting the continually arriving Microsoft 365 features, security and quality updates and new applications.
·Educating oneself as the subject matter expert for new releases.
·Assist with the decision for which releases should be deployed by understanding what releases can bring value to the business, enhance security, address problems and create efficiencies.
·Create release documentation for Engineers, Support staff and users.
·Train engineers, support staff and users.
·Creates Knowledge Base Articles for Microsoft 365 Products.
·Reviewing and submitting change control requests.
·Works with Corporate Communication on distribution of release documentation.
·Thoroughly test releases that are being reviewed for possible deployment.
·Creates test plans.
·Assists with root cause analysis of the Office 365 Ecosystem.
·Participates in on-call after hour support rotation for the Office 365 Ecosystem.
·Establish a group of service champions.
·Be a lead technical member of the Office 365 Governance Committee.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Advanced knowledge of Office 365 support technologies including but not limited to, Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Azure Active Directory and Conditional Access Policies.
In depth understanding of the technical and usability capabilities of Office 365 with OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.
Strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to senior leader’s experience.
Experience creating technical runbooks, training and testing plans and educational materials.
Strong PowerPoint and Advanced Microsoft Office Skills preferred.
Experience collaborating at all levels of an organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent experience required.
Minimum six years general Information Technology experience with minimum four years’ experience in direct support of software and hardware products required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment with occasional travel to different buildings. Mostly sedentary work interacting with computers and people. Requires ability to perform visual inspection and lifting less than 10 pounds.
