You Will Be Responsible For:

Oversees and manages the daily operations of the department and the delivery of services identified in the department's scope of service. Maintains accurate knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures, external accrediting standards, as well as, state and federal regulatory requirements. Actively monitors compliance of all hospital, departmental, and medical staff policies, bylaws, rules and regulations, guidelines, and required accreditation standards. Provides requested medical staff information/documents to the AdventHealth Risk Management Department, when requested, relative to lawsuits filed against the hospital.
Serves as the gate keeper for all Medical Staff policies and governing documents located on SharePoint.
Manages support staff as assigned completing and conducting annual evaluations as necessary.
Responsible for daily operations of the budget including physician contract development/deployment, building costs, recurrent payments, and event expenditures. Updates the department Director regarding financial performance, budget overages, and any physician contracting issues. Ensures all physician payments and contracts meet the established corporate compliance guidelines.
Manages/facilitates the Investigative Review Committees (IRC) in conjunction with in-house legal counsel. Responsible for minutes, completing any follow-up work such as composing letters, and coordinating/facilitating communication between physician IRC members and attorneys to applicable parties.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Health Administration, or related field OR
Minimum 5 years previous experience in an acute care facility, such as, a Medical Staff Service environment
Self-directed and creative
Ability to accept responsibility and work independently, under pressure, to prioritize a diverse workload and meet deadlines
Experience in meeting management and minute taking
Experience with credentialing software
Management and supervisory experience
Experience in a multi-entity healthcare system
Current Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS) and/or Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) certification
The Operations Manager is responsible for assigned systems, medical staff meetings, special projects, and management of Medical Staff investigations. Serves as a AdventHealth Medical Staff Governing Documents expert and gatekeeper. She/he is a resource for the Campus Medical Staff Coordinators for questions or concerns on governing documents and policies. Serves as a liaison between Campus Officers and System Officers. Manages special Medical Staff projects independently and in collaboration with the AdventHealth medical staff leaders, medical staff director, and senior leadership. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
