Financial Analyst for the Clinical Department of Finance will provide financial and administration assistance to the team that is developing budget and analytical tools to aid with operational and executive decision making and support the development and management of the annual budget process as well as perform functions supporting monthly financial analysis. The Financial Analyst will investigate and analyze detailed accounting information for reporting and problem solutions, and play an active role in various special projects. Focus areas include budget compilation, financial statement design, ad-hoc reporting and analysis produced with a superior level of integrity and accuracy. Key to this position is organization, multi-tasking, teamwork, and strong communication and written skills. The Financial Analyst collaborates with various teams across the VUMC system with a specific focus on providing financial, budgeting, and administrative assistance in a responsive and professional manner.
* Assists with the compilation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the Academic Enterprise and VMG; Provides departmental and consolidated reporting for VUMC leadership.
* Analyzes monthly financial statements to include researching variances, following-up on issues and resolution; Produces reporting and analysis for monthly financial package; Monitors and maintains data related to departmental support for accurate accounting and reporting; Reviews and monitors performance of operations and financial reporting and performs special projects.
* Performs administrative duties for the Academic Enterprise and VMG to include Concur, Privilege Management, and PCard/T&E Card review
* Performs general ledger maintenance, processes journal entries (monthly and repeating),Smartview statement/reporting development, adhoc analysis, parental leave, GL integrity checks, and department review template generation.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Two years applicable experience
Proficient Excel user with report writer capabilities and technical mining skills
Master's degree in Business/Accounting/Finance or Financial Certification such as CPA/CIA, CHFP, etc.
Experience with Business Intelligence systems an databases
Experience in Tableau or Business Analytic software
Basic understanding and working knowledge of Vanderbilt University Medical Center systems
Basic Healthcare Industry experience
