• Utilizes critical thinking and prioritization skills to receive, process and distribute correspondence including, but not limited to, faxes, incoming mail, voice messages and email in a prompt and efficient manner according to AdventHealth guidelines.

• Ensures all uncollected balances and fees have been reviewed and processed appropriately. 
• Accurately updates, verifies and enters patient demographics including correcting insurance plan and policy number and verifies insurance correctly.  Captures referral source and referring physicianâ™s name.

What You Will Need:

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Bilingual, preferred
• One year of diagnosis coding and medical billing experience, preferred.
• Experience with computers and associated clinical software, preferred.
• Must be willing to float to other AdventHealth practices, within reason, when patient load, vacation schedules etc. make it necessary.

The Float Receptionist is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, reviewing new patient registration and entering patient information into the practiceâ™s designated system. This individual is responsible for taking accurate messages and routing correspondence efficiently.  Serves as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. Travels to different offices, as needed.
