Sourcing / Purchasing Analyst

Description JOB SUMMARY: This Sourcing / Purchasing Analyst is a full-time position with VUMC IT and offers a comprehensive benefits package, career growth and an opportunity to join a highly collaborative team. Key Responsibilities: 1. Analyze purchase requests for the best available purchasing method, pricing, terms and conditions, quantity discounts, quality, and service. Analyze requirements, research market conditions and recommend improvements for purchasing procedures and strategies. Review, understand, and negotiate terms and conditions included in contracts 2. Manage existing contracts and supplier relations for VUMC IT. Negotiates contracts for continued cost savings and reliability. Assists in financial analysis and needs assessment for purchases and products to include consideration related to total cost impact. Interact with Stakeholders, Legal and Procurement as needed to implement new contracts and renew existing contracts 3. Review and approve documents to verify the validity of complicated transactions and the availability of funds and to assure that all necessary information is present. Identify and correct errors in documents where discrepancies require complex corrections. Create spreadsheets independently as needed by the project. 4. Prepare leasing documents for capital equipment. Manage the lease from beginning (bid) to end (entering PO). 4. Pro-actively identify and resolve potential problems or issues that may impact a program, project or business condition. Critical issues are to be discussed with manager for visibility, direction and alternative solutions. 5. Maintain PEER (Internal contract system) & Box, create and analyze monthly reports/queries for renewals and ensure financial information has been recorded accurately and consistent with VUMC IT policies and procedures. Support the maintenance and maturity of various software and systems while managing and administering financial data analytics that include granularity on vendors, projects, technology components and stacks, time-tracking, cost allocation metrics, etc. 6. Make legal and financial arrangements with vendors, deemed to be in the best interest of Vanderbilt University Medical Center 7. Serve as the liaison between the customer and the vendor's technical support staff 8. Research and become familiar with core computing systems in use at VUMC 9. Interact with IT staff, vendors, local support providers, LAN managers, department purchasing agents, and people who hold similar positions at VUMC 10. Research, analyzes, and evaluate data from multiple sources to manage invoice discrepancies and PO encumbrances. 11.
