This Supervisory Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) position is located in Sterile Processing Service at the West Haven Campus location. This position is a full-time 40 hours per week position. GS-8 Duties are includes but not limited to: Experienced with Surgical Instrument Tracking System(s) and its successor system. Experienced with the Abacus transaction codes to properly interpret data and to manage system entries. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the barcode hardware and software necessary to operate the Abacus programs, and its successor system. Skilled in statistical and analytical processes and deductive reasoning in order to conduct problem and trend identification and resolution. Thorough knowledge of price/cost analysis techniques to evaluate vendor proposals, compare pricing and make economic and legally sufficient purchases. Have a thorough understanding of the influences that item price, payment discounts, and delivery charges have on inventory costs. Experienced in Fiscal budgeting and accounting procedures sufficient to maintain a Fund Control Point. The work requires an understanding of Fiscal procedures regarding the authorization, disbursement, accounting and control of medical center funds. Working knowledge of Federal Property Management regulations relative to the classification of expendable and non-expendable property. Knowledge of commonly used commercial computer packages used to compile and compose inventory reports. Commercial computer packages include word processing packages and spreadsheet programs. A thorough knowledge of the necessary forms used for inventory control and purchasing. Examples of forms include DEA forms, procurement request forms, Government Bill of Lading (GBL) forms, bid abstracts, and purchase orders.
