Provides centralized management for all hospital insurance collections functions. Manages and implements programs to ensure efficient operations of the Revenue Cycle program in order to generate sufficient cash flow. Manages the collecting, adjudicating, identifying, analyzing, reducing, and resolving of various issues associated with hospital accounts receivable and insuring monthly cash flow. Manages staff and the collection of hospital gross revenue, net revenue, and claims.
Manages the hospital insurance collection functions including hospital insurance collections by service line, hospital secondary collections, A and R resolution, and cash flow.
Directs the above-mentioned activities of the Revenue Cycle to ensure cost effectiveness and organizational efficiency.
Provides direction to these functions and how the functions in question inter-relate to the other Revenue Cycle functions including Patient Access, Medical Records, Professional Billing and Collections, Hospital Billing, Revenue Enhancement, Human Resources, Information Systems, Financial Reporting, Process Improvement, Charge Entry, Training, Corporate Finance, Customer Service, Practice Specialists, and the respective Service Lines.
Communicates the departmental activities to the management staff as it relates to insurance follow-up (collections), cash flow, organizational profitability, customer service, accounts receivable results, and revenue cycle service line results.
Works in conjunction with other areas within the Revenue Cycle to ensure coordinated activities with respect to all revenue cycle needs.
Develops, implements, and directs various quality initiatives to ensure continuous monitoring and improvements within the Revenue Cycle process.
Includes managing an overall departmental operating and capital budget(s) within pre-determined limits and within Freedom-To-Act guidelines to insure operational efficiencies and obtaining pre-determined performance targets.
Facilitates various technological initiatives in support of business process improvements with respect to hospital insurance follow-up collections.
Assists with the establishment of a training school for all Revenue Cycle employees in regards to hospital insurance follow-up collections and communicates ongoing improvements relative to process improvement and employee development.
Participates in the development of various Revenue Cycle and strategic plans as needed.
