Position Summary: The Assistant Patient Financial Navigator (Assist PFN) assists patients and/or families access a variety of financial resources by evaluating the financial situation of uninsured or under-insured patients in accordance with regulatory compliance while maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity; determines eligibility for financial assistance. The PFN Assist answers questions of patients and family members regarding their financial assistance applications. The PFN Assist liaisons with Patient Financial Services, Patient Access, clinical team, Personal Health Partners and Patient Financial Navigator team to ensure maximum cash flow and reimbursement for hospitals and acts as an advocate for the patient in resolving patient liability.
Minimum Requirements: One (1) year experience in collections, financial counseling, insurance benefit verification and/or precertification, third party payor, Medicaid case work, admitting or billing experience required Patient Registration experience preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Completion of a medical terminology course or proficiency preferred
