The Chief of Staff will serve as a partner and provides strategic and tactical/operational support to the CEO and COO of Stanford Children's Health. Serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO/COO. The Chief of Staff will oversee and manage the daily operations of the executive office with a strategic lens on executive commitments. This position will also serve as a connector for the senior leadership team to the ensure the CEO's strategic goals and initiatives are managed and executed. This position will build strong relationships and effectively communicate across the organization in order to effectively manage projects and key stakeholders. The role will manage and work closely with the Office Manager, who will be responsible for managing and triaging the workflow of the CEO and COO, ensuring executive office activities are running smoothly, and managing and developing the executive suites administrative support team. .

Advises, supports, assists, coordinates, and collaborates on special/strategic projects for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Organizes, problem solves, raises issues, and integrates initiatives, solutions, and actions for the Chief Executive Officer. Acts as an executive liaison to resolve problems and ensure successful implementation of initiatives.

Ensures Strategic alignment and coordination of priorities and goals. Maintain a communicative and highly cohesive executive office team aligned toward the same goals while championing a strong and motivated work culture.

Creates a strategic agenda for the CEO based on his vision and key initiatives. Drives business priorities from start to finish. Executes projects or initiatives on behalf of the CEO/COO or the organization.

Serves as a strategic thought partner, sounding board, and confidante. Inform organizational strategy and decision-making. Plans by identifying project obstacles, researching opportunities, and drafting solutions for CEO and COO.

Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information for CEO and COO to facilitate efficient decision-making. Acts as a point of contact or gatekeeper between top management and other stakeholders. Provides oversight and guidance to projects of high importance.

Acts on behalf of the executives for greater visibility and accessibility. Prevent bottle-necking and promote decision-making. Anticipates the needs of the CEO/COO and organization, enabling the leadership team to operate more effectively and efficiently.

Delivers results on behalf of the CEO and COO. Attends key meetings and events with, or on behalf of, the CEO and COO and ensures timely follow-up of all action items.

Partners with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects and activities. Executes projects/programs by translating to actionable steps, gaining cross-functional buy-in, and program managing. Evaluates and summarizes effectiveness of projects and initiatives to better inform leadership decision-making.

Builds formal structure and systems to executive office processes to ensure consistency and quality of delivery. Identifies, implements, and documents systems and structures to allow for efficient executive office operations. Create sustainability and continuity of executive office systems and processes. Facilitates regular executive office team meetings to ensure immediate and future needs of the office are being supported.

Manage, plan, and facilitate senior leadership meetings and off-sites, formulating the topics to cover, building and advising agendas, guiding the discussion, bringing action items, and following up as appropriate. Responsible for key operational rhythms, calendars and processes, creating a comprehensive view of the operational mechanics of the organization.

Maintains quality control of information and communication to provide leverage to CEO and COO; anticipates needs and work to solve problems before they occur.

Supports the CEO's external board activities and cross Stanford Medicine work. Responsible for coordination of key board and committee activities. Ensures that the administrative team provides a high level of board and board committee support.

Provides management and coordination of activities across the team. Anticipate challenges before they arise. Ensure communication and collaboration across the broader organization.

Serves as connector across the senior leadership team to support alignment and effectiveness; tracks and summarizes KPIs related to the team's goals and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Ten (10) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
License/Certification: None required.
