PRMO Established in 2001, Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) is a fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization supporting all of Duke Health, including Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, the Private Diagnostic Clinic, and Duke Primary Care. The PRMO focuses on streamlining the revenue cycle through enhanced management of scheduling, registration, coding, HIM operations, billing, collections, cash management, and customer service. Occ Summary
Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated withdaily clinic preparation process, patient identif ication, patient checkin/out, charge posting, cash management and patien t appointmentscheduling. Position also involves customer service, messag edistribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation and referralsmanagem ent.
Work Performed
Prepare for clinic visits by rev iewingnext day patients andcompleting next day preparation activities. E nterpre-visit orders andprepare new patient charts. Pick up X-rays, offi cecharts, medicalrecords, reports, petty cash and collections bag. File history sheets,ancillary reports and all other required patient record d ocumentation.Return medical records. Attach HIPPA/Medicare documents to theencounter forms.Check-in patient upon arrival in the practice. Ident ifycorrect patientinformation in Maestro Care. Verify patient demographi cdata. EditMaestro Care as needed. Accurately identify the appropriate accountfor patient visit. Present and educate patients on required forms andobtain signature as required by policy and procedure. Completes allMa estro Care check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts. Collectand post co-payments and balances on accounts due. Imprint all patientspecif icchart documents and requisition/transmittal documents. Copy,fileand d istribute insurance cards as indicated by procedure.Coordinate all labs/ procedures as requested. Maintain private physicianoffice charts.Prepare encounter forms. Investigate and account for missing encounterforms. Aud it encounter forms for completeness and accuracy beforebatching. Batches encounter forms or charge posting in Maestro Care.Schedule tests and pro cedures. Complete and distributeancillary service requisitions.Explainbi lling to patientsaccording to PRMO credit and collection policies. Deter mine the amountof cash to be collected based on insurance plan.Check-out patients. Make return appointments by scheduling patients into thecorrec t appointment type, entering the primary care physician orreferring phys ician and scheduling tests and procedures.Answer telephone, take anddeli ver messages to physicians, nurses andothers. Report obtained medical in formationfrom patients and referringphysicians accurately, completely a nd timely. Disseminate messagesaccording to practice communication stand ards
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal a nd written communication. Basic PC and data entryskills.
