The Coordinator, Oncology Transitions is responsible to facilitate oncology services, including retail and durable medical equipment (DME) services. This position will effectively input and coordinate client information to ensure accurate and timely data for purchasing and billing. This position requires assisting clients with product selection, providing the most current information available. Following product selection, this position will complete sales transactions and monitor insurance reimbursement related to oncology products. This position oversees the billing, insurance verification process in an accurate manner obtaining current eligibility coverage and authorization to ensure reimbursement in a timely manner. The Coord, Oncology Transitions is responsible for the processing of new orders, file management, scheduling of patients, report distribution, computer system utilization, and interaction with patients, physicians, and hospital personnel.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Works collaboratively with all departments to meet goals of care for customers / patients.
Demonstrates the ability to complete all department financial transactions and maintain records as required by various regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Responsible for ordering supplies and merchandise for the department per par level.
Responsible for proper fittings of breast protheses, and other related supplies/products, such as other garments and bras, utilizing proper cleaning techniques between patients and providing a barrier between the skin and products
Responsible for assisting clients with wig selection and fittings, utilizing proper cleaning between patients, providing a barrier between scalp and product.
Demonstrates expertise in scheduling and registering clients; verifies and updates patient information in patient file/chart/software if applicable, in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensures and obtains correct current eligibility, benefit coverage and authorization to secure patient accounts.
Utilizes equipment and supplies appropriately for its intended use, takes measures to identify equipment and/or/supplies that needs repair or replacement.
