Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position provides leadership in design and implementation of fundraising strategies for major and mid-level donors and maintains an active portfolio of major gift donors and prospects while soliciting gifts and providing recognition and stewardship as appropriate. This position is responsible for design and implementation of grateful patient and physician/provider giving strategies and works directly with providers as donors and partners. This position reports development activities to the Foundation Board of Directors and the Development and Stewardship Committee of the Board and engages Board members as partners in fund raising on an individualized basis. This position provides public outreach through presentations to community groups and works with Benefis Marketing for social media, printed material and solicitation materials appropriate to areas of responsibility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs and implements major gift donor fundraising program including donor and prospect identification and solicitation.
Designs and implements grateful patient and physician/provider giving strategies and communication.
Identifies planned gift and estate gift prospects among donor database.
Creates and manages donor segmentation plan including donor stewardship, donor societies, printed recognition, and donor impact reports.
Sets annual goals for areas of responsibility and maintains Development Activity calendar in coordination with Chief Operating Officer.
Develops annual expense budgets for areas of responsibility.
Coordinates and facilitates the Foundation Board of Directors Development and Stewardship Committee agendas in consultation with the Chief Operating Officer, including Board education.
Assists the Chief Operating Officer in planning and executing annual Board of Directors Retreat and education.
Makes public presentations.
Works with Benefis Marketing staff to develop social media content and solicitation material.
Maintains thorough and accurate donor records using Raiser's Edge software.
Responsible for sponsorship solicitations year-round in collaboration with the Annual Giving Director.
Supports other fundraising activities of the Foundation and assigns duties as appropriate to Annual Giving Director and support staff.
Ensure donor database is kept up to date on key donor information, conversations, and interests.

Adheres to dress code.
Completes annual educational requirements.
Maintains regulatory requirements.

Attends department staff meetings as required within the department.

Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
Coordinates efforts in meeting regulatory compliance, federal, state, and local regulations and standards

Complies with Health and Safety Standards and Guidelines.
5-7 years of direct fundraising experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
