Atlantic Heath System is seeking a full-time Surgical Scheduler for AMG Censtrastate Surgery & Oncology in Freehold, NJ
Hours are: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm
Coordinate all aspects of Operating Room and In Office Procedures such as procedure authorizations, radiology appointments/authorizations, medical clearances.
Verifies demographics/insurance benefit information and provides excellent customer service.
Collaborates with our clinical team to obtain billing information such as appropriate procedure/codes/equipment
Coordinates cases to surgeon's calendar and updates/adjusts any necessary changes.
Schedule procedures/clearance (within 30 days of scheduled procedure) in a prompt, professional and helpful manner to all patients.
Follows AHS guidelines and ensures proper equipment is ordered for surgery
Arranges any necessary co-surgeons/assistance.
Responsible to maintain OR Block time guidelines.
Displays cooperative interactions with others and accepts responsibility for what needs to get done.
Manages time efficiently to prevent unapproved overtime.
Performs assignments with efficiency and accuracy in a positive manner. May be required to provide cross coverage within the office.
Adheres to AHS organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Management of surgeon's calendar, reviewing of office/surgical claims.
Ensure claims meet compliance standards prior to finalizing claims for submission.
Communicating with departments as needed concerning claim errors/corrections prior to claim submission.
Resolving returned claims by payors.
Monitoring/Reviewing/Resolving open balances.
Appealing denials when appropriate.
Knowledge of understanding of regulatory updates/insurance policy updates.
Monitoring payment collections.
Ability to escalate issues appropriately to manager.
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Effective interpersonal and communication skills required
Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a changing environment is key
Self-motivated, detail oriented and pragmatic
2 years of progressive experience in a medical office is preferred
Proficient in medical terminology and HIPPA guidelines
Surgical coding knowledge (CPT & ICD-10)
Physician billing experience, including electronic billing
