Assists in the collection, preparation, recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial data. Works under limited supervision. Collects, prepares and verifies appropriate data to process financial transactions or reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Collects needed data from various departments by checking appropriate sources as necessary.
Follows up with departments in a professional manner to obtain missing data or clarify questions as needed.
Verifies that supporting documentation and balances are accurate using appropriate tools and procedures.
Accurately enters data into appropriate accounting systems as required.
Prepares clear, concise and accurate financial reports and forms for use by departments and outside agencies.
Provides clear communication regarding financial systems to interested parties to ensure correct understanding of processes and outcomes.
Promptly and courteously responds to questions concerning financial matters.
Maintains clear communications with outside vendors, customers and other departments, and resolves disputes as they arise.
Resolves accounting, general ledger, fixed asset, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury or payroll questions with other department heads and employees appropriately and in a timely manner.
Reconciles discrepancies in financial data to ensure accurate and timely reports.
Identifies discrepancies between accounting system ledger, premium bills, lock boxes, and/or other financial statements and reconciles discrepancies as needed.
Prepares clear, concise and accurate financial reports and forms for use by other departments and outside agencies.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Associate’s degree or equivalent formal training preferred.
One to three years accounting experience preferred.
Proficient with MS Office applications.
Excellent communication, research, problem-solving and organization skills.
Two days remote and 3 days on-site
