We are seeking both a full-time (1.0 FTE) and part-time (0.2 FTE) Oral Surgeon who will report directly to the Chief of Dental Service. The full-time Oral Surgeon will provide care at our Stockton VA Dental Clinic and the part-time Oral Surgeon may choose to have their duty station at one of two locations: Sacramento (McClellan campus) or Mare Island, CA.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: The individual will be experienced and competent in all phases of OMS including but not limited to dentoalveolar surgery and complex dental extractions, treatment of orofacial infections, treatment of orofacial trauma, preprosthetic surgery, placement of osseointegrated implants, diagnostic procedures consistent with the practice of OMS, surgical treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathosis and grafting procedures including harvesting of graft material consistent with the practice of OMS.
The individual must be proficient in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment care in all the above areas. They must be trained and competent in providing IV conscious sedation and be certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). They must be able to manage medically complex patients, including inpatients, and to perform a history and physical.

The individual must be able to work collegially with other dentists and physicians, and should possess the skills, both interpersonal and professional, to work with residents in OMS, other dental specialties and Advanced General Dentistry.
Assignment includes advanced understanding and use of the computerized record system.
Candidates must: 1) be US citizen, 2) possess a current, full, unrestricted dental license in any State and 3) be board certified or board eligible in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) Preferred experience: Board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS).
Salary Range: $300,000-$350,000
Work Schedule: Full-timeMonday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm; Part-time negotiable
