Other information: At least one year experience in Business Office practices with emphasis in billing duties.Must have good command and use of keyboard functions to use a CRT. Typing and computational skills are required. Must be familiar with medical terminology, ICD9/ICD10 and CPT coding.
Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the RAC area. Assists the Biller III in preparing monitoring reports. Performs daily follow-up on claims activities related to the Audit Recovery Contractor and other external agency audits Updates the RAC add on tool for activities related to follow up/ requests from outside agencies and updates hospital billing system of activates. Corrects errors identified through the auditing process. Places claims in appropriate hold category in the event the error needs additional research. Requests information required by payers from various departments for denial and appeal of claims with audit denials Assists in the preparation of appeal documentation related to audit denials. Assists in rebill projects resulting from outside claims audit initiatives.
