Learn more at www.multicarejobs.org Position Summary: The Monitor Technician/Health Unit Coordinator is a member of the health care team working under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director or charge nurse and performs receptionist and secretarial duties on the patient care unit while functioning as the focal communication source in the nursing station. In addition to Health Unit Coordinator functions, this position is also responsible for observation of telemetry monitoring and recognition of cardiac dysrhythmias. This position requires a service-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills for the purpose of supporting care delivery and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups. Independent decision-making is expected in the execution of daily routine duties. Decisions regarding patient care or services require the review and approval of the Registered Nurse. Internal contacts may include staff and management throughout MultiCare. External contacts include physicians, patients, families and visitors. Minimum Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent preferredCompletion of an approved Health Unit Coordinator vocational training course and basic arrhythmia courseOR Previous Patient Care experience (minimum of 1 year or currently enrolled in clinical education program)OREquivalent clerical experience (minimum of 1 year) in a medical office Minimum 1 year of experience as a Monitor Tech for PRN consideration Education/Licenses/Certifications: See minimum requirements
