Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Patient Financial Patient FInancial Service representative to work from 8AM-4PM Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities:
Making sure claims meet compliance guidelines prior to being submitted to insurance carriers in the HIS system (Epic) and the billing Clearing House (Change Healthcare).
Communicate with charging or coding departments when encountering claims with charging or coding errors that need to be corrected prior to billing.
Correct all claim errors prior to billing.
Perform coverage changes when required to correct insurance information.
Process late charges when appropriate.
Address with appropriate departments and correct all claims being returned by the payers with errors for invalid information or any other error.
Call payers when needed to get clarification on rejection messages received electronically.
Resubmit claims when necessary.
Notify Team Leads of any issue not able to handle directly.
Note all accts with accurate and detail descriptions of actions taken.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
College degree. Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
Qualifications/Requirements
A minimum of 2 years' experience in Hospital Billing preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Excel and Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
Planning and organizational skills that gives the candidate the ability to multi-task, prioritize work, support and accept direction from multiple sources, and perform detailed tasks with efficiency and accuracy
